Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D Box Art Gets Axed

Well, actually it’s Chris Redfield who is on the cover of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and is about to get axed. By the looks of it, I’m not sure his chances are too good. The game will have content from the mercenary modes of Resident Evil 4 and 5. To counter people who might call it a lazy port, Capcom has said that there will be new characters, enemies, and weapons. As of right now, Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Hunk, and Jack Krauser (yes!) are the characters we know are in the game. There will most likely be others.

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries will have online co-op play, but does not have a story mode. However, I’m sure many people who have played mercenaries mode can attest that it is a blast. The game itself is fun to play, but it also keeps you playing by challenging you to get your highest score. This means you have to take enemies down as quickly as you can, run around the level to collect “time”, and master your chosen character’s weapons.

I sure hope Wesker is in the game. Noone can top his hillarious cry of, “You failed me!“, when he’s hurt and needs help.

How does everyone like the box art? Pleased?

Here’s a trailer of the game, for those who haven’t seen it:
