Ace Combat’s New Trailer Gets Up Close and Personal

NamcoBandai unveiled a new trailer for newest title in the Ace Combat franchise: Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. This one features a new mechanic called Close Range Assault. It appears that when you approach an enemy fighter close enough, it will automatically change to a zoom mode that lets you shoot with better precision. Once you get the kill, the game slow downs to a bullet time-esque animation with a beautiful kill spectacle as you rip apart their planes to shreds. As a fan of the series, the melodramatic Fires of Liberation felt very last gen with a new coat of paint. This might be the kick the series needs to get back to being the top dog in arcade-style fighter sims! Check out the awesome trailer below!
