Pwn Noobs on Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC

Coming on February 1st to exclusively to Xbox owners will be Treyarch’s first DLC for Black Ops titled First Strike. The pack will contain 4 new multiplayer maps as well as a new Zombies map. There’s no word yet on when PS3 owners can get their hands on it, but here’s a quick rundown as well as a video preview for your viewing pleasure:

Kowloon – This map is based on the single player campaign level that takes place in Hong Kong. Running around the map seems like it’s mostly on rooftops, but the main feature is the ZIPLINE! Yes, I said ZIPLINE! Now as cool as it may be, there are pros and cons to this. Yes, you can get to where you’re going fast, but you don’t have a weapon out and are vulnerable to being shot down. This should make for some interesting videos.

Discovery – This is a derelict old German WWII outpost in the Antarctic that has 2 main bases. In between is a deep chasm that is bridged together with an ice bridge and a standard bridge. The key feature is the ice bridge, which is destructible.

Berlin Wall – This is the largest of the 4 maps. As you could imagine there are 2 sides to this map with the Berlin Wall itself running through the middle. This is going to be a sniper friendly map from the looks of it. There is a shortcut in the map that is a wide open area, but it’s cross at your own risk. Oh and did I mention that there are auto-turrets in that area as well?

Stadium – This is the smallest out of the 4 maps, but not as small as Nuketown. There will be mostly CQC (Close Quarters Combat) through much of the areas, so quick reflexes are a must. The map features an ice hockey rink in the middle.

Ascension (Zombies) – The setting if this Zombies map is an old cosmodrome, which is an old Russian spaceport. There are a few new weapons as well as perks. Along with that, also comes the inclusion of Cosmic Silverback monkey that can steal your perks. For those that play DOA (Dead Ops Arcade), you know exactly who this is. My guess is that he will replace the scientist who steals your weapon in the Kino Der Toten and “Five” levels. As for weapons, there is the Gersch Device which was described as a “Black Hole Bomb” and Matryoshka Dolls, which I assume is somewhat similar to the monkey bombs. The only 2 new perks that were spoken of so far are the “PhD Flogger” and the “Stammin-Up” perks. Both of which no one knows the details of as yet.
