The Zombie Hordes of the Walking Dead May Return This July

Good news for all you fans of the hit AMC Original Series The Walking Dead. During a recent interview with Breaking Bad star, Bryan Cranston, he revealed that not only would his show be returning in July but The Walking Dead would return as well.

“It was a decision from AMC that they wanted to position us in July… They want to attract as many eyeballs as possible, away from the heavy competition of the September, November [or] January start.”

“I believe they’re going to put Walking Dead in July as well”

Fans got a taste last season with only 6 episodes. The 2nd season will contain 13 episodes, still notably shorter than many other television series.

During a recent interview with Tim Kring, the producer attributes some of the show’s success to short length of the series.

A zombie series called The Walking Dead just launched here[UK], which was a huge success because it was good quality—but also because it was only six episodes long. People knew it wasn’t a huge time commitment. It gave it more of a sense of an event rather than a series that would go on for years and years.

The last series of Lost was panned and FlashForward didn’t last long… There are so many different things to watch that to invest in a show that asks a million questions and doesn’t deliver many answers for an extended period of time is a lot to ask for.

Tim has got a point, I don’t watch many TV shows because of the amount of time I need to invest in them. In the old days of anime, it was a tradition to have only 26 episodes.  Then shows like Pokemon, Naruto and Bleach came along, and now you could be watching a show until your well into your 50s!

I can only hope that we will see some new Walking Dead promos popping up in the upcoming months.
