Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Level Design Evolved

The original Deus Ex game gave gamers true freedom when it came to infiltrating and extracting. Your character, JC Denton, can go inside a building in many different ways, whether it’s breaking and entering, sneaking inside a vent, or hacking a door lock. Level designer Steven Ciciola talks about his role in Deus Ex: Human Revolution as he creates a “Multi-Path, Multi-Solution” for almost every challenge in the game.

Steven mentions that during the Police station demo at gamescom, there were 4 different ways to play through it (Combat, Hacking, Stealth, and Social). He mentions that there are actually more ways to go about it then what was shown. The downside to this type of gameplay is that players will miss other features and paths that the designers have created.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will come out in Spring of 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
