Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to Star in 21 Jump Street Movie
Columbia Pictures has announced that Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will be starring in the modern adaptation of the 21 Jump Street TV show.
21 Jump Street will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the guys that directed and wrote Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which is really a funny and enjoyable movie. It’s such a weird feeling to see directors go from CG animation to a live-action flick. Take Andrew Stanton for example; he did Pixar’s WALL-E, and now he’s adapting the John Carter of Mars live-action movie.
Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, said, “Jonah helped create a smart and funny vehicle that is tailor-made for him and Channing. They are a perfect duo for this film and Phil and Chris have a terrific, accessible take on the material. We love how this movie has come together and are very excited to begin production this spring.”
Johnny Depp starred in the original 21 Jump Street show about young undercover cops going to high school and college.
