Jessica Alba Confirms that Tim Story Sucks as a Director

I’ll give Tim Story credit, despite his ridiculous and obviously fake Hollywood last name, The Barbershop was a pretty good movie. It had a pretty good story and a lot of heart behind it. That being said, Barbershop 2 and Fantastic Four 1 & 2 just plain sucked. In a recent interview, Jessica Alba talked about how her experience working on Fantastic Four: Revenge of the Silver Surfer with the director nearly had her quit acting.

“[He said] ‘It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.’ He was like, ‘Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.’ And I’m like, But there’s no connection to a human being. And then it got me thinking: Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough? Do people hate them so much that they don’t want me to be a person? Am I not allowed to be a person in my work? And so I just said, ‘F-ck it. I don’t care about this business anymore.”

Jessica may not be Meryl Streep, but she does have point. What the hell was Tim talking about? Cry pretty? I can’t even begin to try to understand what that means. So I did some searching on Google and I think I’ve figured out what it looks like:
