Darren Aronofsky Is Directing X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2!

It has been confirmed that Darren Aronofsky will be the director taking the reigns on the next installment of X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2! Last night Hugh Jackman told New York Magazine at Elton Johns, Enduring Vision Gala, that this time around Wolverine won’t be as colorful as normally experienced in the X-Men movie franchises.

“This is, hopefully for me, going to be out of the box. It’s going to be the best one. Well, I would say that, but I really do feel that, and I feel this is going to be very different. This is Wolverine. This is not Popeye. He’s kind of dark. But, you know, this is a change of pace. Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote The Usual Suspects, has written the script, so that’ll give you a good clue. [Darren Aronofsky’s] going to make it fantastic. There’s going to be some meat on the bones. There will be something to think about as you leave the theater, for sure.”

Wow! With The Usual Suspect writer Christoper McQuarrie writing the script and of course Darren Aronofsky directing the movie, this just might be exactly how Jackman describes it. Will this be the derivative of DC’s Batman with Christopher Nolan, but Marvel’s Wolverine with Darren Aronofsky!? We sure hope so!
