Bid on Marty McFly’s Shoes from Back to the Future II
Recently, news has surfaced that Nike is patenting the self-lacing technology that once appeared in the 1989 classic, Back to the Future II.
A new auction has popped up on Profiles in History, from the same auction site that ran the LOST auction. The site is currently auctioning off the original self-lacing Nikes that Michael J. Fox wore in the movie. Their estimated worth is between $12,000 and $15,000 dollars. Of course, these shoes don’t actually lace themselves but they are definitely an iconic item in movie history.
If you buy them. maybe one day you’ll run into someone that actually has self-lacing shoes and say,”Hey, your shoes are a working product inspired by my shoes.”
