Thin Screen Display That Can Twist and Bend

Those Taiwanese are a clever bunch. A company in Taiwan, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), has been working on a light, flexible and thin display that can be twisted, folded, rolled, and bended. And since these are light, using them for tablets makes a lot of sense, since it won’t be too heavy when your lugging them around when you’re on the move.

“With a stable, viable and cost-effective flexible-display technology,” says Barry H. Jaruzelski, an Innovation Awards judge and a partner at consulting firm Booz & Co., “the door is opened to a wide range of truly new applications in consumer electronics and device interfaces.”

There is a problem to this technology though; and that is the mass production of these guys aren’t practical because of the process of creating it. Let’s just say that it’s a delicate process, and it takes time.
