Linkin Park Gets Their Own Gundam

I remember one of the first things that really sparked my interest in Linkin Park was their inclusion of Gundam figures in their hit music video Somewhere I Belong. At the time I was in high school, Gundam Wing was airing on Cartoon Network’s Toonami and you could even find Gundam models at any Toys “R” Us. The band has always publicly displayed their love for Anime, like in their fully animated music video Breaking the Habit. It’s not a surprise that eventually it would come full circle.

On Wednesday, Warner Music Japan announce that the groups hit single The Catalyst will be the new theme song for the video game Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. They also announced that they would release a special Gunpla 30th Anniversary Edition Album that will feature a Gundam model kit designed by the band.  The A Thousand Suns album is already in stores but the Gundam Special Edition won’t be released until November 24th.

You can pre-order your copy over at CDJapan for about $60 dollars, not including shipping and handling. If your a fan of Linkin Park and a fan of the Gundam franchise, you’re defnitely not going to want to miss out on this special edition.
