Halo: Reach Breaks Iron Man 2, Alice in Wonderland & Toy Story 3’s Records

In just one day, Halo: Reach has surpassed the 3-day opening weekends of Hollywood’s top movies of 2010 like Iron Man 2, Alice in Wonderland, and Toy Story 3 for US sales. Microsoft also announced that Halo: Reach generated more than $200 million in the US and Europe. Well let’s not forgot that many bought the legendary edition, which costs $150, which helped boosted the sales figure, since I don’t think Iron Man 2 came with six McFarlane action figures or a cool box set.

“‘Halo: Reach’ is the biggest game Microsoft has ever released, and its launch has already surpassed every game, movie and entertainment launch this year,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios. “Every major installment has grown in scope and popularity, firmly cementing the ‘Halo’ franchise as one of the most popular entertainment properties in the world over the past decade.”

Ok Hollywood studios, so when is that Halo movie going to be made? Neill Blomkamp would’ve been perfect.
