Want to Watch Avatar in 3D Blu-ray? Better Buy a Panasonic TV

Panasonic has announced that Avatar will be available on Blu-ray 3D at the beginning of December. The catch? You’ll have to purchase a Panasonic 3D HDTV to get the 3D movie. The only way you’re going to get it by itself is if you wait til around the first quarter of 2011. Wow, and I thought consoles were the only ones to get exclusives around here. Since we’re at it, let’s bring back the Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD war again.

Panasonic isn’t the only one doing exclusives. We have Samsung carrying Monsters vs. Aliens. Panasonic has done exclusives in the past with movies like Caroline and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

If these companies are going to pull this stunt, it’s no wonder that 3D TV adoption is going at a slower rate.
