Western Digital Scorpio Black Mobile Hard Drive: The Little Hard Drive that Could

WHHaaaT is?? UP!!! Ra1N, aka Ninja Assassin, here again here for a quick tech tip/review to keep your laptop running top notch! Out of all the years I’ve been gaming PC-style, I’ve noticed that size doesn’t matter! That’s right ladies, size “Doesn’t Matter!” I’ve ran numerous hard drives from Hitatchi, Maxtor, to Seagates in hopes of gaining speed performances and the conclusion, the best bang for the buck hands down goes to the Western Digital Scorpio Black. Not just any black, but the 320Gb series. Right from the get-go the SATA 3GB connection boosted loading screen speed in almost every game I’ve played, from WoW, Diablo 2 and Counterstrike to Blur and Starcraft 2 instantly. It also has a HUGE cut down in load up/shut down speed.

But if you guys can’t take my word for it, try it out for yourself. If you guys are really interested here’s some tech spec I think are useful for the upcoming PC gamers to be.

  • 320 GB, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache, 7200 RPM
  • Transfer Rates (Buffer to host) Serial ATA – 3 G/bs
  • Operating Temp 32° F to 140° F / Non-operating Temp -40° F to 158°

On a side note since I am running a laptop to do my gaming, you will notice a little increase in temp, but nothing to worry about because I’m pretty sure if you’re playing on a laptop, you guys would have a laptop cooler. You can find this HD anywhere from your local Best Buy to Amazon. I hope you guys will take my word into account and check this HD out, until then…
