Next Fast and The Furious Film Announced, “Fast Five”

Recently there has been a rumor going around of a possible 5th movie in the Fast in the Furious franchise. The rumor was recently confirmed by a tweet from 2 Fast 2 Furious star Tyrese Gibson:

“Major shouts to Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, & Dwayne “Rock” Johnson!! ‘Fast & Furious Five’ Let’s get em again!!” – Tyrese Twitter.

All you need now is a few more action stars and you got The Expendables on wheels.  Gibson will return along with franchise newcomer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, whose new film Faster perfectly qualifies him for the hi-octane, testosterone fueled, adrenaline rush.  Also confirming his return is rapper Ludacris. He announced his involvement briefly after Tyrese tweeted about it.    I’m pretty sure Michelle Rodriguez will not be returning, unless there is gonna a zombie race team, which would be awesome!

According to multiple sources, the film will be called Fast Five, and it will be directed by returning Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious director Justin Lin.  According to Ludacris’ official twitter, filming just began in Puerto Rico and is expected to be filmed in Brazil and Rio as well.

We can expect to see the film next summer and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in 3D.
