Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Ready for Launch One Week Early

IO Interactive, a part of Square Enix Europe, has announced that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has gone gold, and will be released a week ahead of schedule on August 17, 2010 in North America and August 20, 2010 in Europe.

The first Kane & Lynch game came out in a bad light with the way Eidos was advertising the game (see pic above) and the whole Gamespot controversy. Despite all this, Kane & Lynch went on to sell over 1.5 million copies worldwide. With the game being a success, a sequel and a Hollywood treatment was inevitable, with Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx starring in the movie. Foxx looks just like Lynch, don’t you think? (See top pic).

IO has been working hard to make Dog Days a better experience says Niels Jørgensen, general manager of IO Interactive.

“The team has worked hard to deliver a game that’s different from the current trend of third-person shooters and we’re so pleased to be able to share it with the world ahead of schedule. With development now complete, why keep people waiting any longer? We want to let gamers experience the game we’ve created and get them online betraying their friends in Fragile Alliance, so we have decided to bring the release date forward by one week.”

In Kane & Lynch 2, you play as the notorious criminals trying to escape the underworld of Shanghai, after a job didn’t go according to plan.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
