Dragon Age “RPG of the Year” Sequel Confirmed

From the team that brought you Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic, BioWare has confirmed that Dragon Age 2 is in development. In the first game, you’re one of the few survivors of the Grey Wardens, legendary warriors ordered upon to protect Ferelden against the evil Darkspawn. The game featured dialogue trees and choices. Dragon Age 2 follows the hero named Hawke, a survivor of the Blight in which the Darkspawn wreaked havoc in the Dragon Age world.

“With Dragon Age 2 we are creating an exciting new entry point into the Dragon Age universe while ensuring that fans of the original game retain a sense of satisfaction and familiarity in the world,” said Dragon Age 2 Executive Producer Mark Darrah. “We are amplifying the things that made Dragon Age: Origins such a huge success while introducing a more dynamic combat system, improving the graphics, and telling the most important story in our world.”

This story puts players into the role of Hawke, a poor refugee who became a champion. The legend surrounding Hawk’s rise to power is filled with myths and rumors. The story will span 10 years, and players will again encounter tough moral choices, gather allies and becoming rich and famous. No information yet on whether characters in the game will have sexy time with their underwear on.

Stay tuned August 8th, 2010 for the debut trailer.

Dragon Age 2 is scheduled to be release in March of 2011 on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
