Super GT Racing Cars with Anime Flair

This past weekend the Super GT qualifying session GT300 took place at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. A couple of the racing cars featured itasha designs. Itasha is the trend of decorating a car with anime/manga/game characters. The result was some unique looking racing cars causing otaku to go wild over this racing event. Even the race queens got dressed up along with the itasha theme.

Japan leads the industry in futuristic toilets that spray water and keep the seat warm. Now video game company Sega has taken it further and have created a game mounted into men’s public urinals! A pressure sensor in the urinal’s porcelain wall measures the stream of liquid while you do your business. TRON: Legacy Pop-up Shop Grand Opening Party with Gallery

November 18, 2010 – Disney hosted a grand opening party at the Royal/T Cafe for the TRON: Legacy Pop-Up Shop. The entire place was decorated in a TRON style with neon blue lighting and a grid pattern wall containing code. I thought to myself, “This is what it would be like to party in the GRID!” It was open bar and the atmosphere was lively. Female models in futuristic clothing posed as still statues along the walls of the area which matched the artificial theme of the GRID.

Gantz Live Action Film: New 90 Second Trailer

A new 90 second movie trailer has been released for the Gantz live action Japanese film. It is based on the on-going manga Gantz by Hiroya Oku which was adapted to anime in 2004. Gantz revolves around the male character Kei Kurono, a high school kid who looks at the world negatively and hates adults. One day Kei and his friend Masaru get into a fatal train accident. Strangely, they are partially revived by a black sphere called Gantz and then forced to play a game to fully regain their lives. The objective of the game is to hunt and kill aliens disguised in human society. Players of the game get a cool perk: skin tight rubber suits that enhance their speed and power. Not to mention some funky futuristic weapons.
