Donnie Yen is back in new Ip Man 4 teaser trailer

The Ip Man series from director Wilson Yip Wai Shun and starring Donnie Yen has been a roller coaster of a ride with emotional storytelling and fast martial arts action. A new teaser trailer has been released for the fourth film in the series, Ip Man 4, and Yen is back as the grandmaster. He sets his sights on a new journey in the U.S., and he’ll get to face Scott Adkins.

The films are based on Ip Man, the real-life legendary martial artist and teacher of Wing Chun Kung Fu. He’s had many students including Bruce Lee. In the fourth film, he decides to move to the United States for a better life, but things aren’t always greener on the other side.

Synopsis: Ip Man’s life remains unchanged after his wife’s death, but he and his son are slowly drifting apart. To seek a better future for his son, Ip Man decides to travel to the U.S. only to find the stable, peaceful life abroad is only skin deep. Underneath lies a deep rooted racial discrimination that is far worse than he has expected. Ip Man re-examines his position and ponders on the reason he took up martial arts in the beginning.

The film is directed by Wilson Yip Wai Shun and stars Donnie Yen, Wu Yue, Van Ness, Scott Adkins, Kent Cheng, Chan Kwok Kwan Danny, Kanin Ngo, Chris Collins, and Vanda Margraf.

Ip Man 4 hits theaters nationwide on December 25, 2019.
