D23 Expo: Kit Harington, Gemma Chan, and Barry Keoghan join the cast of ‘Eternals’
During their small presentation at D23, Marvel Studios gave us some more information about their next two films. After Black Widow, The Eternals will grace our presence in November. Although they haven’t begun filming yet, the cast of the film came on stage to say hello to the D23 crowd. However, Kevin Feige didn’t want to just have a repeat of Comic-Con. Instead, he announced that three new actors would be joining the cast of the evergrowing Eternals family.
Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington will be rejoining his Thrones alum, Richard Madden, and will be playing the non-Eternal Dane Whitman. Now, Marvel fans will be quick to recognize the significance of that name. In the comics, Dane Whitman is also known as Black Knight. Not to mention, Whitman is also a superhero and a part of the West Coast Avengers. We don’t know if Harington will be playing Black Knight or Dane Whitman, but we’re glad that the opportunity is still there.
Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk) will also be making his MCU debut as Druig. The “aloof loner” Eternal who is a very power schemer in the comics. Lastly, Gemma Chan (Captain Marvel) is coming back to the MCU as she’ll be playing the human-loving Eternal Sersi. Yes, you read that right. Robb Stark, Jon Snow, and “Sersi” will all be in an MCU film.
Before leaving the stage, Feige has one more surprise for everyone in attendance. On the screen, they showed the entire team in full uniform.
