Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trailer reveal, release date on October 25

Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Activision releases a new Call of Duty game every year. Last year was the release of Call of Duty, Black Ops 4, and the year before that was Call of Duty: WWII. With Blacks Ops 4, it brought in the battle royale mode, Blackout, and it was definitely one of our favorite modes here at Nerd Reactor. This year, the Call of Duty franchise is skipping the past and future for the present with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Activision and Infinity Ward have released the multiplayer reveal trailer, showing off the action for the upcoming 1st-person shooter.

The trailer features different types of tactics for its multiplayer trailer as Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” plays in the background. There’s a mode where a team can breach and infiltrate, which will require teamwork for sure. You’ll be able to ride tanks or shoot out of a tank. You can also play as a heavily armored soldier with a minigun, and in the video, it takes down a helicopter like a knife through butter.

There will be different game modes including Gunfight where you’ll be fighting up close in 2v2 battles. There are also the traditional 6v6 multiplayer modes, and to add even more players on the action, there will be modes with 10v10 and 20v20. Ground War is a large-scale mode that supports over 100 players. The game will include more customization and modifiability in the new Gunsmith system and new gameplay mechanics like bullet penetration, gun mounting, door breaching and night vision.

Activision and Infinity Ward are doing away with the season pass with free maps and content after launch. There’s also going to be crossplay.

“Our goal with Modern Warfare is to bring all gamers together from day one to play together,” said Patrick Kelly, Creative Director and co-Studio Head, Infinity Ward. “We’re doing away with the season pass; we’re delivering a mix of free maps, a ton of content following launch, and we’re developing the game for crossplay. We’re live-testing now, and fans will get to try for themselves next month in the Beta. This is a new day for Call of Duty multiplayer, and today is just the start — we have many more exciting reveals coming for fans that we can’t wait to share.”
