Alita: Battle Angel is headed to 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD later this month, and the film has made appearances all around Anime Expo 2019 this past weekend. Based on the manga by Yukito Kishiro, the film takes viewers into an action-packed adventure about a robot girl who finds out she’s a deadly warrior. AX 2019 attendees were able to attend an Alita cosplay gathering and check out the Manga Lounge and Manga Wall, a giant mural featuring Alita.

Anime Expo’s “Manga Lounge” was sponsored by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, and it was home to Alita: Battle Angel props from the film that were available on display for viewing. The lounge was also the base for the cosplay meet and greet. Cosplayers decked out as characters from Alita met up in another location at the Alita: Battle Angel Cosplay Meet-Up.

And then there’s the “Manga Wall,” which is a giant mural featuring Alita striking a pose. The artist behind the mural is Cloe Hakakian, and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment partnered with the artist and Beautify Earth, a non-profit organization. It was located across the street from the Los Angeles Convention Center, and it was another area where Alita fans could meet up.

Synopsis: When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this discarded cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. When deadly and corrupt forces come after Alita, she discovers a clue to her past – she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she’s grown to love.

The film also stars Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keenan Johnson.

Alita: Battle Angel will be available on Digital July 9th and 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 23, 2019.
