Game of Thrones is over, and petition for remake is now over a million signatures

Spoilers Ahead for Season 8 of Game of Thrones

With Daenerys Targaryen turning completely mad in episode 5 of Game of Thrones’ final season titled “The Bells,” it left many fans surprised. There are a lot of viewers really upset with the way showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have rushed the last two seasons, especially the final season. The ending to many of the character arcs has been unsatisfactory to many viewers including the death of Lord Varys and the cause of Cersei’s death. One fan decided to create a petition that asks HBO to remake the last season. It has been gaining a lot of traction, and now it has over a million signatures. That’s a lot of angry fans.

When the petition first started out, it was gaining momentum with over 100,o00 signatures. With Game of Thrones finally over, it has reached 1,200,000 signatures at the time of this writing.

The petition was created by Dylan D. Check out the statement below:

“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.

This series deserves a final season that makes sense.

Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

Benioff and Weiss’ next project is Star Wars, and it’s revealed that the next film after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be done by them. Of course, Star Wars fans who weren’t fans of the recent seasons will be upset about this.

“I don’t want these two anywhere near Star Wars, either,” one fan wrote. “This was abysmal.”

“I unfortunately I had to watch this **** to know it needs redoing,” another added.

A fan wrote, “I understand it’s GOT but don’t trash 8 yrs of character building for what they think will shock and awe us. It sucks.”

The very final episode of Game of Thrones concluded the story for many of the characters and also acted as an epilogue. Jon Snow kills Daenerys before she could take over the world, Arya decides to sail west in uncharted territory, Sansa becomes Queen in the North, Brandon Stark becomes the King of the 6 kingdoms, and Tyrion serves as the right hand to the king. It’s pretty much a happy ending for the Stark family ever since they got screwed over in season 1.
