Carol Danvers is compared with Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor in Captain Marvel TV spot

The world of Captain Marvel is filled with hope and anger. Critics have been raving about Captain Marvel on social media, and there have been angry fans blasting the film on Rotten Tomatoes over Brie Larson’s comment about white men. Marvel Studios has released a new Captain Marvel TV spot, and it has been very careful with not showing too much. A lot of the trailers released hasn’t revealed much either, and that’s great for audiences who don’t want to be spoiled. As for the new TV spot, it has Carol Danvers being compared to Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.

The spot features Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, with each hero having a line representing them. “Some are built” refers to Iron Man, “Some are made” refers to Captain America, and “Some are born” refers to Thor. Captain Marvel gets her own line with, “On March 8, discover what makes a hero.” You can check out the “Rise” TV spot below.

Synopsis: The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and written by Boden, Fleck, Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer from a story by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy), Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse. It stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, Rune Temte as Bron-Char, McKenna Grace as young Carol Danvers, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson and Jude Law as the Starforce Commander.

Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019.
