SDCC: Go crazy like Harley Quinn at DC Universe Experience

The DC Universe streaming service comes to San Diego Comic-Con with a variety of mazes and rooms for fans to experience. After a brief sign in, you receive a chipped wristband that tracks all the events you complete, and you will get an email to access all the photo-ops throughout the experience. You can go crazy in the Harley Quinn Chaos Room, experience the horror of Swamp Thing in a swamp-inspired maze, and become a detective in the Dick Grayson’s Titans Loft.

It’s a free event taking place at the Gaslamp Quarters on Martin Luther King Promenade near 5th Avenue. Simply register at DCUniverseExperience.com. It’s going to be a very popular attraction since the line is expected to have a 4-hour wait.

We’ll be going into detail for some of the activities, so it’s best to avoid them if you want to go in blind.

Harley Quinn Chaos Room

My favorite activity is the Harley Quinn Chaos Room. Before going into the cell, you are covered from head to toe with a clean suit. You are then set free to cause mayhem with your baseball bat.

Swamp Thing Maze

It’s a brief maze that is dressed to imitate a swampy walkway akin to Swamp Thing’s backyard. You first enter to a narration with live actors, giving you fair warning to tread lightly as you venture through the swamp past dark, as there are dangers lurking all around you. As you get to the end of the path, you are blinded by bright strobe lights. Your greatest fears are approaching, or at the very least, some photos are being taken of you with a scary look on your face for all your friends to laugh at you.

Young Justice Watchtower Experience

Attendees fill out a brief survey, and the end reveals which Young Justice character fits you best. Once completed, you take a photo with your characters skin layered over your picture.

Dick Grayson’s Titans Loft

This one is probably my second favorite activity since I’m a sucker for escape rooms. However, since this is a Comic-Con escape room, the time limit is way shorter and there are around 3 puzzles. If you’re an escape room enthusiast, you will definitely breeze through the room. The room your group is in is designed to look like Dick Grayson’s loft. He is missing, and it’s up to you and your team to find out what happened to him.

Batman’s Court of Owls Maze

This is a pretty simple maze and in the end, attendees will encounter the Court of Owls. This is probably one of my least favorite rooms from the DC Universe Experience.

Doom Patrol Lab

If you’re hankering for some drinks and snacks, this is the place to be. You will be served nitrogen-infused popcorn and an option of three different juicy drinks.

In addition to the different activities, there are props and costumes from Titans, Batman Returns, Batman and Robin, and an epic photo spot with a giant comic book panel backdrop.

By signing up online, it will allow you to streamline the onsite admission process. The event runs from Thursday, July 19 to Sunday, July 22 from 9:30 am to 7 pm. (Sunday’s time is 9:30 am to 5 pm.) It’s located at 401 K Street, San Diego, CA 92101.
