Mister Rogers documentary ‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor’ reveals new poster

Focus Features revealed the poster for Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, the documentary about everyone’s favorite neighbor, Mister Fred Rogers. The documentary, by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom), is set to release worldwide on June 8th.

For fans attending CinemaCon next week, starting April 23rd, Focus Features will launch the Won’t You Be My Neighbor? pop-up inside Caesar’s Palace by the Pisa Room in Las Vegas. Won’t You Be My Neighbor? takes an intimate look at America’s favorite neighbor: Mister Fred Rogers. A portrait of a man whom we all think we know, this emotional and moving film takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the land of make-believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination.

The film is produced by Neville, Caryn Capotosto, and Nicholas Ma. It is a production of Tremolo Productions and in association with Impact Partners and Independent Lens/PBS and released by Focus Features.

Rogers was known famously for his long-running series, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, which ran for over 31 seasons and 895 episodes. The series premiered on February 19, 1968 and has earned 59 Daytime Emmy awards and four wins. Rogers was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy in 1997 and awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002 for his contributions to children’s education. Rogers was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1999.

Won’t You Be My Neighbors? opens in theaters on June 8th, 2018.
