Marvel’s Jessica Jones renewed for third season

Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Netflix announced today that Marvel’s Jessica Jones has been renewed for a third season.

The news comes after the release of the second season, which launched last month on International Women’s Day. Although Netflix does not release the metrics for their series, Marvel shows tend to do fairly well and are typically renewed. This would mean that Netflix will have another season of Jessica Jones before Disney could launch its own streaming service, which would include all the Marvel properties.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. The cast also features Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse. The series is executive produced by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg along with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Marvel’s Jessica Jones is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

There has been no word on the next release date for the third season of Jessica Jones or when production would begin. The next Marvel series set to release will be Marvel’s Luke Cage on June 22nd.
