Yes, the title of the latest Mission: Impossible film is Mission: Impossible – Fallout. In a franchise that’s rich with awesome subtitles (Ghost ProtocolRogue Nation), Fallout is probably my favorite. But what does Fallout mean when it comes to the film. According to Christopher McQuarrie, there’s a dual meaning to the title.

“The title has multiple meanings in the film, from the literal to the figurative. There is the threat of nuclear terrorism hanging over the movie, which is the literal threat,” he said. “There’s [also] the notion that what’s happened in the movie is the end result of choices that Ethan Hunt has made in his life. It’s Ethan’s past come back to haunt him. It’s the fallout of all his good intentions.”

The biggest question is who in Ethan’s past will come to haunt him. Will Fallout pull a Die Hard with a Vengeance and have the villain be the brother of previous villains? Is it going to be a villain from a previous movie? All in all, it’s going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

Moreover, Cruise unveiled a brand new photo from the film. In the caption, he promises to up the ante with the new film. Judging by the photo, the stunts are going to be wild and crazy.

Obviously, we’ve seen a ton of incredible stunts from Tom Cruise throughout his Mission: Impossible career. But this one seems particularly crazy. Even though it seems tame, there’s still an incredible amount of danger hanging onto the side of a helicopter without a parachute.
