Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, James Mangold react to Logan Oscar nomination

The nominees for the Academy Awards were announced today and Logan received a nomination for “Best Adapted Screenplay.” James Mangold, director and writer of the film, not only received recognition by being nominated, but also by Logan actor Hugh Jackman, as well as Ryan Reynolds who stars in Deadpool.

Hugh Jackman tweeted: “If Hollywood kept statistics for the most assists in nominations/awards … @mang0ld would be the league leader. Today, he finally got the recognition he deserves. Congrats brother! @WolverineMovie #Logan #Wolverine #Oscars2018.”

This was then followed by Ryan Reynolds: “An impossibly long, lingering hug to @mang0ld, @scottfrank and @andmichaelgreen on their #oscar nomination for LOGAN! Script was so good it would have worked even if you hadn’t bothered to film it.

The director and writer responded humbly: “Wow. I am thrilled! Thank you all, for the lovely tweets!”

Logan synopsis: In the near future, a weary Logan (Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at a remote outpost on the Mexican border. His plan to hide from the outside world gets upended when he meets a young mutant (Dafne Keen) who is very much like him. Logan must now protect the girl and battle the dark forces that want to capture her.
