Game of Thrones returns in 2019

This is it, the final and eighth season of Game of Thrones is headed to HBO in 2019. The majority of the previous seasons contained 10 episodes; however, the last season will only contain six episodes.

In the last season, things are gearing up for the invasion of the White Walkers and the wights in Westeros, Cersei is scheming as usual, and Jon and Dany finally got it on. (Don’t tell them they’re related, though.) Will all the surviving kingdoms band together to fight off the bigger threat? Or will the game of thrones continue during all the chaos? We’ll find out next year.

Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, and Maisie Williams as Arya Stark.

David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik will be directing the new season. The episodes will be written by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.

David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield are the executive producers. Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin are the co-executive producers.
