BedJet will be the reason you never get out from under the covers! (review)

If there are some solid truths about our generation today, it’s these three facts: we love social media, we can’t get enough of digestible media, and, of course, we ADORE our sleep. To many of us, our lives practically revolved these, as they are instrumental in our daily routines. There are those who have to post daily to their blogs, social pages and instant video updates. There are those who can’t go two seconds without listening/watching/reading the latest and greatest from their favorite creative idols. And then there are those who splurge to have the top of the line in comfort so that, after a long day, plopping in to a cloud of tranquility is the only expectation.

I’ve had the opportunity to experiment with several types of bed comforts, from different types of sheets, comforters, mattress types, shelling out thousands of dollars. It was tough trying to find a product that creates an atmosphere of comfort, but once I found the BedJet, my search ended. The BedJet, hands down, is a product that not only creates that feeling, but maintains it!

Created by inventor and former NASA space suit engineer Mark Aramli, the BedJet solves the age-old problems of lost sleep from being too hot or too cold in bed and couples with disagreements on sleep temperature preferences. BedJet’s patented JetConvectTM air technology enables the product to be the fastest powered bedding thermal comfort product available to consumers. Aramli pitched his product in a February 2015 episode of ABC’s Shark Tank, but was shot down by all five investors.

Now, the product has become a huge success, and has sold millions (take that, Shark Tank)! The product we received to review was the BedJet V2 Climate Comfort System. Once received, the system was fairly easy to put together and install underneath my bed. We’ll take a look at some of the unique aspects of the system, and what are some of the up’s and down’s in using the BedJet.

Construction

The BedJet is made of high quality material that, although is light in weight, seems durable when put to the test. My wife can attest to how much of a klutz I can be, so while connecting the system together, let’s just say that the durability was truly tested. The hose that attaches to the unit are also made of high quality material, covered in white fabric, and attaches to angled nozzle, which controls the flow of air. The system, altogether, doesn’t protrude out from the bed too much, aside from the hose. Nuzzled underneath the bed, the system in practically invisible. If the hose was flat, or smaller, the system would be completely inconspicuous.

Now you have the option of just stopping there, and placing the nozzle beneath your bedsheets, but when the system is connected to the AirComforter sheet, the BedJet goes to a whole other level. The AirComforter is a thin sheet that when is attached to the nozzle, the air flow moves through channels within the sheet to help cool or warm you in bed. The sheets feel very high end, made from 100% cotton. Combined with the air flow of your choosing, the sheets quickly transfer your ideal temperature to help you sleep comfortably.

Performance

The BedJet pulls from the coolest air in the room – the room from the floor – and circulates it through your bedding to cool you off. This system does exactly this, giving you a comfortable experience. The heating feature did an excellent job, as well, providing me with the level of warmth I requested with the accessibility by the remote, or my smart phone. I was able to head over to the app, and either turn the temperature up or down.

And speaking of the app, the BedJet V2 uses sleep inducing biorhythm temperature technology to help you go to sleep faster, stay asleep longer and wake up more refreshed. Program custom heating/cooling profiles for every hour of the night and obsolete your noisy alarm clock with a BedJet V2 temperature wake-up setting. Ultimately, the plan shows you exactly what times you will be receiving warm and cool air. Once you’re in your REM sleep cycle, the BedJet will begin to pump cooler air out at a low rate.

Having a cooler sleeping environment is preferential during REM sleep as it improves the quality of rest. Throughout the entire sleep cycle, the airflow percentage may increase or decrease as well. This just depends on how you fill out the short biorhythm questionnaire they ask on the app. The really ingenious part of this is that the cycle of cool and warmer air is entirely customizable. BedJet provides the rhythm patterns as a starting place, but suggests tailoring them to your preferences and desires as you begin to better understand how your sleep cycle works.

BedJet boasts that the system holds a quiet profile, and oddly enough for this kind of system, it does! Here are the following are dB sound measurements take from the pillow:

  • Measured Ambient Room Noise (BedJet off): 37dB
  • BedJet Cool, 50% (most typical highest setting for all night cooling): 38dB
  • BedJet Cool, 100% (unlikely to be used other than short bursts): 42dB
  • BedJet Heat, 50%: (most typical highest setting for all night heating): 39dB
  • BedJet Heat, 100%: (unlikely to be used other than short bursts): 43dB
  • BedJet Burst Heat 100% (can only be used for 10 minutes before auto-shuttoff): 47dB
  • The medium settings are quieter than any bedroom window fan or air conditioner.

The system, at its peak, is no louder than that of a library, which if any of you were like me, was a place I napped at frequently during college. The BedJet has special acoustic damping technology built into the case and air delivery system. This makes it one of the quietest sources of air from any small consumer appliance. The noise is a very soothing background white noise and similar to your household HVAC register. BedJet’s highest fan speed and Turbo bed warming settings are extremely powerful and do generate more noticeable noise than this, but Turbo-heat mode is limited to running for maximum of 10 minutes.

Overall

Overall, the system is something that my family enjoys! Aside from the hose critique, I know that I’ll be heading to their site to purchase one for some family members! This is definitely a must-buy holiday gift for that loved one in your life. Between the customizablebiorhythm temperature technology and its Bluetooth-connected BedJet smartphone app, this has got to be one of the smartest accessories you can have at your bedside. BedJet is a solid company, and despite what the Shark Tank investors thought, this product is going to sell through the roof. Now, I’m moving the TV closer, I’m grabbing all my comics, and I plan to stay in bed ALL winter, if I can!

If you’re looking to purchase a BedJet V2 Climate Comfort System, head over to their site to take advantage of their holiday offer! But act now, as holiday orders need to be in by December 18th!
