Destiny 2 launch trailer gives glimpse of the upcoming story

With Destiny 2 on the horizon, Bungie has decided to give use a taste of things to come by releasing the launch trailer for the upcoming title. In the biggest surprise so far, we see that there is a plethora of new footage as well as a bit of a deeper look of what to expect in the story. The trailer feels like it picks up right where the Homecoming mission from the Beta left off.

Starting off, it shows the Red Legion Cabal leader Dominus Ghaul interrogating The Speaker. As it continues, there is a feeling of sadness and hopelessness for the survivors of the initial attack. Then things seem to take a turn for the better. The Vanguard (Cayde-6, Ikora Ray and Commander Zavala) reunites and comes up with a plan to deal with Ghaul and his legion. Even a quick pep talk from Lord Shaxx gets the adrenaline pumping and ready to jump in.

If you keep a close eye throughout the trailer, you can see some of the new weapons, environments, enemies, armor and even vehicles. It ends with what seems like a giant Vex Hobgoblin boss, which I can’t even fathom where that fits in the story. Either way, it all looks so good.

The trailer focuses solely on the single-player campaign. Last week however, Bungie did give us a tease of what to expect in competitive gameplay, as they did release a multiplayer trailer. Overall though, Destiny 2 is looking to make a statement and prove that they have learned from their mistakes and are ready to deliver on a good game with a great story.

Destiny 2 will be available on September 6th for Xbox One and Playstation 4, with PC release coming after on October 24. The Beta for PC starts on August 28th for preordered and August 29th for everyone else.
