There is some sad news on the set of Deadpool 2. A stunt performer died on the film’s set during a motorcycle stunt, which is confirmed by the Vancouver Police’s Twitter.

TMZ is reporting that the accident happened near the Jack Poole Plaza where the stunt scene calls for a motorcycle. The woman performing the stunt went airborne with her bike crashing through a window inside a studio of the Shaw Tower. Afterward, she was taken to a hospital via an ambulance. Her identity remains a secret.

It’s very sad to hear when a stunt goes wrong that ends with a life being taken. Our condolences to her family and friends.

The story is still unfolding…

David Leitch and Action

The movie is being helmed by David Leitch, the director of Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron and the co-director of John Wick. He comes from a stunt background and understands what it takes to push the boundaries of action. And if you have seen any of his movies, you would, of course, know that the action scenes are very gritty and grounded. Furthermore, to get a sense of the training and intensity of Leitch’s films, take a look at the training video featuring Theron.

Deadpool 2 started filming in June of 2017 in British Columbia, Canada. It is scheduled for release on June 1, 2018.
