David Tennant will be back in Jessica Jones season 2

David Tennant
One of the highlights for Jessica Jones was David Tennant as Kilgrave, aka the Purple Man. He was sinister and made your skin crawl, and he was the perfect villain for Krysten Ritter’s titular character. And now we have news that the actor will be reprising his role in the second season of the Marvel and Netflix series.

Spoilers Ahead

At the end of the first season, Jessica Jones kills Kilgrave by snapping his neck to save a bunch of mind-controlled civilians. It was a sad moment for fans of the villain since he had a lot of potential for future seasons.

With EW confirming the news that he’s back, how will they explain his return? Will this be flashbacks? I guess we’ll find out once season 2 premieres. In the meantime, check out the official set photo featuring David Tennant and Krysten Ritter.

In the first season, Jessica Jones is a private investigator who is dealing with a haunted past. What makes her special is that she has superhuman strength and can jump really high. Although she has these powers, she has no intentions of becoming a superhero. However, the return of Kilgrave in her life means she’ll have to decide whether to take the plunge or drown her sorrows away via liquor.

You can see Jessica Jones next in Marvel’s The Defenders, a series that unites her with other Netflix/Marvel heroes like Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
