Atlus Rises – Newest update for No Man’s Sky

Atlus Rises
In what can be labeled as one of the biggest disappointments of 2016, Hello Games has been hard at work since the launch of No Man’s Sky. Labeled as its journey, it released its newest update on August 9, the anniversary of its launch. Atlus Rises aims to add lots of new features to the ever expanding game. Here’s a quick breakdown of what to expect:

Update 1.3, Atlas Rises, brings a brand new and overhauled central storyline, portals, a new procedural mission systemtrade improvementssystem economiesjoint exploration and more.

A New Chapter for No Man’s Sky?

Two main features stand out in this new update. The overhauled central storyline would be the first. One of the main complaints of the game was the lack of a true story. Exploring the game felt like it was mainly to survive and travel to the center. Collect resources, build a bigger and better ship and repeat. Though a few die hard gamers have thrived within No Man’s Sky, the vast majority have seemingly abandoned the game itself. Atlus Rises promises over 30 hours of story that’ll have you unlocking the secrets of the Atlus. And with it comes new exploration with missions, new worlds, a new race and new star ships as well.

Joint exploration is finally making its debut in No Man’s Sky. This is easily the second surprise of the already full content update. But, before you grab your buddies and jump back in, there are limitations. First, other explorers appear as orbs in your area. Up to 16 players can travel together and can come in contact via VOIP, or in game chat. That appears to be the only co-op features at this time. The contact via orbs is explained as a glitch in the matrix simulation. But that appears to be it for now. It’s a small step toward co-op gameplay, but at least the step has been made. Now we wait and see what else Hello Games has in store for us.
