Chloe and David ‘bond’ in Life Is Strange: Before the Storm gameplay video

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm takes place before the events of the first game as we get to see Chloe’s relationship with Rachel blossom… or deteriorate. And to get fans excited about the upcoming game, a new gameplay video titled “Chloe & David” has been released. As you can guess, the video will feature a moment with the protagonist and a new member of the family. (Chloe’s probably puking at the thought of that right now.)

I was able to get some hands-on with the game at San Diego Comic-Con 2017. And it pretty much is the same experience as the hands-off demo during E3 2017. Chloe attends the Firewalk concert at the Mill, and it’s there where she¬†encounters Rachel for the first time. However, this time, I made safe choices to counter the mean choices from before. As far as I can tell, the immediate consequences feel similar, but we’ll have to wait and see if there are repercussions in future episodes. (There is only 3 total.)

Chloe & David

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm

It starts with Chloe waking up from an intense night at the Firewalk concert. As with the previous game, the soundtrack plays an important part. And here the song, “No Below” by Speedy Ortiz, sets the mood. With her father passing away due to a¬†car accident, she will have to get used to another male figure in the house. And since this is Chloe we’re talking about, she’ll give David as much attitude as she can. Even if it’s a simple task of helping him out with the car. There is a very amusing moment where he is trying to give her a fist bump for a job well done. One option is to leave him hanging, and the following scene has him forcing a fist bump on her. Awkward!

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 31, 2017.
