Marvel’s The Defenders new trailer is pretty damn awesome

Netflix knows a thing or two about creating amazing superheroes.  Now, they teamed up their individual stars and made them into a team – The Defenders – fighting one major baddie, Alexandria (played by the talented Sigourney Weaver). The cast and creatives from the upcoming series all gathered at San Diego Comic-Con in Hall H on Friday to talk about the series and reveal their newest trailer.

Alexandria begins the trailer with speech to a fully resurrected Elektra (Elodie Yung): “The thing about war is, it only works as both sides believe they’re the good guys. The truth is, we’re not so different. We fight to get back what was once ours. But, in the end, and this is the end, it’s just a city. You’ll get used to watching them fall.” We then see Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Matt Murdock aka Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) together as they battle big bad Alexandria and the Hand as they begin their takeover of New York City.

It’s pretty fun to watch the very different heroes interacting with each other. Jessica Jones steals the trailer with her sarcastic attitude towards the gang. We then see Stick (Scott Glenn) warning the team that a war is coming and they must be prepared. The action scenes look fantastic as they all battle together to save New York.

With only eight episodes, The Defenders will be a fast binge.

Marvel’s The Defenders returns on August 18th on Netflix.
