Sheridan’s ‘Wind River’ tense trailer will have you on the edge of your seat!

Jeremy Renner has really come up in the industry. One of my first experiences with the actor has got to be his portrayal of the antagonist in 2003’s S.W.A.T. From getting his start in small roles and playing second fiddle to other stars, to starring in his own films, and portraying one of the staple characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, Renner is starring in an action-packed crime thriller that is sure to take the world by storm!

“Out here you survive, or you surrender…”

Today the Weinstein Company released a new trailer for Wind River, a crime thriller and directorial debut from Academy Award-nominated Sicario and Hell or High Water screenwriter Taylor Sheridan. The film Jeremy Renner as a local game tracker in the great state of Wyoming. When Renner finds the body of a young woman on Native American territory, an FBI agent is assigned to the case (Elizabeth Olsen). She teams up with Renner’s character to solve the mystery, and figure out what hidden secrets the deep snow may hold.

Sheridan has always been in the industry as an actor, but it was his writing efforts on the substantial films mentioned earlier that skyrocketed him to the top. Both of these films earned him international recognition, bringing home several nominations and accolades. With his unique voice and tone, Sheridan has created a niche where his can play comfortably, developing and evolving the crime-thriller genre. Now with his first at-bat with directing, fans of Sheridan will see what he can really do when in the driver’s seat.

Early reviews of the film have already come in from its Sundance premiere, and many are calling this film one of the biggest contenders for the Academy Awards. Check out the trailer below!

The film also stars Julia Jones, Jon Bernthal, Gil Birmingham, Graham Greene, and Kelsey Asbille. Wind River opens in theaters on August 4th.
