Syfy plans to take over San Diego Comic-Con

Syfy is pulling all the punches for this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con!

Syfy is bringing their most popular shows, including The MagiciansWynonna Earp, and The Expanse, to the convention center. In addition to the 15 panels and screenings, Syfy is bringing a Battlestar Galactica reunion panel, which includes Ronald D. Moore, Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff, Mary McDonnell, Grace Park, and more.

That’s not all. Syfy will host multiple free-to-the-public parties with trivia trolleys and cosplay karaoke busses, superfan-themed legal weddings officiated by actor Orlando Jones, and three nights of live coverage hosted by Nerd HQ’s Zachary Levi. On Thursday and Saturday night, Syfy will take over the Children’s Museum with free parties for first-come-first-served with live performances.

SyFy recently underwent a brand refresh to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Syfy and USA Network executive VP of marketing and digital Alexandra Shapiro told THR, “Comic-Con is our Super Bowl and this is our coming out to our fans and a real-life expression of what this new brand is. The Super Bowl is the big event and has a tailgate and afterparty, and we wanted to [do] all that and to do it in a way that’s inclusive and not exclusive.”

Expect to see a lot of Syfy signs all around Comic-Con! Syfy is about to take over!
