Michelle Rodriguez might leave Fast and Furious series for one reason

Fast and Furious Michelle Rodriguez
The Fast and the Furious franchise is a huge money-maker for Universal. There has been a total of eight films since the original’s debut in 2001. In addition, there’s the Fast and Furious: Supercharged ride as part of Universal Studios’ tram tour. Was the series in jeopardy with Paul Walker passing away? The answer is no since The Fate of the Furious grossed over $1 billion worldwide without the actor. Now we have long-time Fast and Furious actress Michelle Rodriguez warning Universal and the producers that if they don’t show some love for the women in the next film, she might leave.

She tells her fans on Instagram:

“F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It’s been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love”

Of course, many of her fans will be disappointed if this happens. But will the studio bend over to her request? Well, one thing is for sure, the franchise seems to be doing fine without its other main star.

In The Fate of the Furious, it featured one of the most compelling villains in the series’ history, and she’s played by the talented Charlize Theron. Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey is also a nice addition to the team, so here’s hoping that she’ll be back in the next film.

Previous Drama In the Franchise

This isn’t the only drama to happen for the Fast and Furious films. Previously Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had to vent online about how his co-actors were acting on the set of The Fate of the Furious.

This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. UNIVERSAL has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you're right. Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part😉. Final week on FAST 8 and I'll finish strong. #IcemanCometh #F8 #ZeroToleranceForCandyAsses

It wasn’t shocking to see that Johnson wasn’t present during Universal’s The Fate of the Furious presentation at CinemaCon 2017 in Las Vegas. He was there, however, to present for films like Baywatch and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

The Fate of the Furious is now available on Digital HD. Fans who want to own a tangible Blu-ray or DVD copy will have to wait until July 11, 2017.

So what are your thoughts on Michelle Rodriguez wanting to leave the series? Let us know in the comments section below.
