Life Is Strange: Before the Storm E3 trailer features Chloe and Rachel

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm
During the Xbox E3 Briefing, a prequel game in the Life Is Strange universe has been revealed via the announcement trailer. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm gives us glimpses of teenager Chloe as she deals with a family accident and teenage drama. Fans will definitely be excited to see Rachel, as she was a big part of the previous game.

So what do we know so far? Life Is Strange: Before the Storm will contain only 3 episodes. The first episode of the short series is coming out on August 31, 2017.

Synopsis: Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a new three-part standalone story adventure set three years before the events of the first game. This time play as Chloe Price, a rebel who forms an unlikely friendship with Rachel Amber in dramatic new story in the BAFTA award winning franchise.

In the trailer, there’s a slow shot of Chloe as she is smoking. And Daughter’s touching song, “Numbers,” is playing in the background. There’s also a quick shot of a car accident involving Chloe’s dad.

Time Travel

One of the things that made Life Is Strange a fun and unique game is the way developer Dontnod Entertainment was messing around with time travel. If a player made a mistake with their choices, they can rewind time and choose a different path. However, Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is taking place before Max returns to Arcadia Bay. Don’t count on time travel as a major mechanic since it’s going to focus on Chloe as she tries to cope with life. If Dontnod really wanted to throw a curveball, it could give Chloe time travel powers like Max. However, fans have come to love the characters of Life Is Strange. So Chloe’s story wouldn’t necessarily need time travel mechanics to make the game engaging.

In Life Is Strange, Chloe has been changing her life around after experiencing tragedies in her life. One includes the death of her dad, and the other is the strange disappearance of her very close friend, Rachel. Max, her childhood friend, is back in her life. And the two will have to learn how to become friends again. To make matters even crazier, Max is able to time travel.

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm will be available starting August 31, 2017, for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
