4 reasons why you should go to Fanime 2017

Fanime 2015
Ah yes, one month to go. Maybe even less! It’s Fanime season, you guys, and I could not be more excited! Fanime is my home con and has been my favorite con since I first went to one way back when. Now, this will be my seventh Fanime and I think this year I’m more pumped than I ever have been. I don’t know if it’s the guests, the events, or just the overall atmosphere, but I’m so ready for Fanime 2017.

So, in honor of the convention being in a couple of weeks, allow me to help you hype up for Fanime 2017 as much I currently am. Here are a few things you gotta check out:

1. The Game Room

Okay, but really. The game room never, ever, ever disappoints. I remember that the majority of my last Fanime was spent in the game room – hanging out with friends and just doing what we do best.

Not only do we have a wide variety of computer games, but also arcade games. Dance Dance Revolution, claw games, board games, and card games, you name it. It’s a perfect environment for all of us nerds and it’s what I look forward to most. And the best part? It’s FREAKING 24 HOURS. (Internal screaming.) That means free access to games, all night long, around a bunch of people who are like you. (As long as you have a badge.) What more do you want?

2. The Cosplay

Every year it never fails. Fanime always brings out the best cosplay. I’ve been to a whole lot of conventions, but not only do people bring out the guns for this con, but they also bring out the creativity.

Fanime cosplay tends to bring out a wide variety of costumes, ranging from really complex, really original, and absolutely hilarious. You get extravagant cosplay with wings that touch the ceilings, and then you get male maids and raptor Jesus. It’s a whole lot fun, and I think that’s partly what makes the convention as a whole.

Check out our video we did a few years ago!

3. The Vendor Halls

I’m not joking when I say that Fanime is one of the only conventions I save up my money for and then blow it all in the vending halls. I’m not entirely sure what it is, but the people that come out to sell their items, and the shops that Fanime tends to choose, are always so damn good. They have the best stuff, amazing deals, and I never fail to be amazed by the turnout.

Not to mention the fact that when I go, I see a lot of other people holding stuff they bought from the hall, and it always makes me want to go and buy the same stuff they had. I think last year began the trend of little sprouts on your head, and I’ve only really seen them when I’m at Fanime.

4. The Atmosphere

My, oh my. Nothing to me says convention like Fanime does. Fanime was one of the first cons I ever got to attend when I was younger. Ever since then, I’ve made sure that I attend every single year. As the convention grows, a number of people attending do too. And with that being said, the atmosphere has greatly transformed into one of the most fun events I’ve ever attended.

I’m not sure if it has anything to do with location or the amount of “wooh party!” the people who go have in them. But I’ve never felt more comfortable and excited. There’s no other way to really describe the feeling you get when you go, other than to go and experience it yourself. But in doing this, I promise you that you’ll have an incredible time, and once you go, you’ll make it an account to go every year. And after your first time, I can promise you that it will land on your favorite con list.

Know what that means? You have to go! Since it’s coming up quick, you should pick up your Fanime 2017 badge before it’s too late and come hang out with all of us!

You can do so and get more information on the Fanime 2017 website by clicking here. Hope to see you there!

This year there will be NO FUN at FANIME 2017. A bunch of whiny & retarded trigglypuffs complained to the point where only people who pay to borrow a badge get to hang out inside. The universal party vibe of Fanimecons past has been shoved out front and excluded from the overall shenanigans inside. TOTALLY LAME!! Look at all those stupid rules, and they have them there “in the name of safety”, which shows how little these idiots got out of the whole “those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither” rhetoric they all heard after 9-11-2001, a date most people doing this neither know nor remember, so it should be no surprise that they let their Japanese cartoon costume party fully realize the misery that through the years too many of its attendants have projected when leaving the venue for food. The FUN part of Fanime has always been the universal party vibe, that this year was distinctly absent due to all the new stupid rules. The people who set that up are IDIOTS, but what can you expect from people who fetishize rules.
