SyFy’s The Magicians renewed for a third season
The Magicians has been renewed for a third season, announced by SyFy this morning.
The renewal comes ahead before the scheduled season finale on April 19th. The series, which airs on Wednesday nights on SyFy averaged a 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demo and 810,000 views, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day numbers – up 9.4% in the demo and 4.5% in viewership from the first season.
Based on the bestselling trilogy by Lev Grossman, The Magicians follows Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) and his friends as he learns about the world of Magic at Brakebills University and must enter the magical realm of Fillory to stop dark forces from ending magic.
The series is currently in its second season and is absolutely fantastic. The writing for this season has been upped and bringing on emotional and political issues, which have been portrayed beautifully by the cast. Those who are interested in the series can watch the first season now on Netflix. The third season is expected to premiere sometime in 2018.
The Magicians also stars Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleton, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy, and Jade Tailor. John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Chris Fisher, Michael London, and Janice Williams serve as executive producers.
The Magicians air on Wednesdays at 9 pm on SyFy.
