Kotobukiya’s Rainbow Mika Bishoujo statue is curvey

To date, Kotobukiya has released Chun-Li, Cammy, Juri, Sakura, Poison and Ibuki (with a few exclusive variants). Later this month Rainbow Mika will join the line in North America and she is quite different from the rest in a few different ways.

I’ve been a fan of Kotobukiya’s bishoujo line for some time, and I have been collecting various pieces over the years including Marvel and DC characters. When Kotobukiya announced that it would be releasing different statues based off of different video games including Street Fighter, that’s when I really started buying all (well almost all) of the figures in the line.

While almost every other Bishoujo statue released has been designed by Shunya Yamashita, the Rainbow Mika bishoujo is designed by Masahiro Takahashi. I won’t beat around the bush, it’s hard not to talk about her pose which highlights certain parts of her body. Obviously, her cleavage and butt are the first things you’ll notice from any angle. It may take away the attention on how the rest of the statue looks. While I only had a few minutes to take a few photos, I felt overall it was really well done. Sure it over-emphasizes certain parts of her body, but I really like the design and sculpt including her pigtails and facial expression.

For fans of the Street Fighter line, it’s a nice piece to add to your collection. Then again this is just a first impression and not something I have on my desk with the others, at least for now.

What are your thoughts on this Rainbow Mika bishoujo piece? Is it too over the top in terms of her curves. Is it a piece you would add to your collection?
