Netflix adds One Punch Man to its Japanese anime list

If you’re a fan of Japanese animation, then you’re in for a treat! Although, I would assume that if you’re a Japanese animation fan, you’d already have watched the series One Punch Man. If you haven’t, then guess what? You can now watch it on Netflix! Netflix already has a tremendous amount of Japanese animation on their list, along with original series that have been funded by Netflix. Adding this to their repertoire only helps to increase the quality of their anime shows.

If you’re unfamiliar with One Punch Man, it’s an anime that is based on the life of a character by the name of Saitama. Saitama longs to be a recognized hero, however, he’s still relatively unknown to the city he protects and the world that he saves continuously. Here’s a little summary straight from Viz Media directly about the series:

“Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!”

Yes, you read that right. Saitama cannot find an opponent strong enough take on. Saitama is basically the “Superman” of his world and no one can stand a chance against him. In fact, you’ll immediately see why the series is called One Punch Man and it does it beautifully.

A little background on One Punch Man is that it started as a low key webcomic back in 2009, however, it went insanely viral and had to be recreated for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan. The rest is history for the manga and the anime since it’s now gained worldwide recognition. In fact, it’s gained so much popularity that there are lots of discussions on many different online forums on whether Saitama could beat Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball Super.

Saitama beat Goku from Dragon Ball? Interesting.

I’m going to have to leave that question up to speculation. Unless you’ve watched the entire series of One Punch Man, I wouldn’t just sit down and say that Goku could beat Saitama easily. That said, I suggest you turn on your Netflix account and add this to your must watch list immediately! I will guarantee that you won’t be disappointed by the series. If you are disappointed, I have nothing to offer you except perhaps a cookie?
