‘Hell on Wheels’ Anson Mount joins ‘Marvel’s Inhumans’ as Black Bolt

All hail the king! When news broke that “Game of Thrones” actor Iwan Rheon would be playing Black Bolt’s conniving little brother, Maximus, it was met with great enthusiasm. After all, Rheon has a knack for playing the conniving and devious as Ramsay Bolton. However, The Inhumans isn’t complete without the big man himself, Black Bolt.

Marvel has finally found that big man. Today, they announced that “Hell on Wheels” actor Anson Mount will be playing the silent but deadly King of the Inhumans, Black Bolt.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said the head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing, almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”

“Inhumans” showrunner, Scott Buck adds, “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”

“Marvel’s Inhumans” will debut for two weeks in IMAX theaters on September 1st before airing all 8 episodes on ABC.
