Ben Affleck wants to bail out of The Batman?

The Batman has been having some issues recently with news of Ben Affleck stepping down as the director. The studio is currently negotiating with Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes) for the director role. Now we have a report from Collider’s John Campea that Affleck wants to separate himself from the project entirely.

Campea has said during Collider Movie Talk that three different sources involved with Warner Bros. in the last week have said that Affleck is thinking about ditching the role of Batman. He also said that we should all take this bit of info with a grain of salt.

“Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he wants out. He doesn’t want to be Batman anymore,” Campea said.

According to his sources, Affleck is trying to get out of his deal with portraying the Dark Knight with Warner Bros. (This includes The Batman.) The standalone film may be Affleck’s last time as the Caped Crusader if a deal can’t be settled.

If Affleck does leave, this will definitely be a bad sign since they’ll need to find another actor to continue on with the DC Extended Universe.

If this is true, will you be sad about Affleck leaving the DC Extended Universe?
