Mass Effect: Andromeda will not have a Season Pass for DLC

Yes, you read that title correctly. As it stands, Mass Effect: Andromeda won’t have any sort of season pass for its post-launch DLC. This was confirmed by Bioware General Manager, Aaryn Flynn, in a tweet earlier today (which you can see below). This is news that fans everywhere can rejoice to. In this current modern age of gaming, so many companies have been abusing gamers and consumers by charging an arm and a leg for additional content for games, on top of the base price.

Things have started to change though, as we’ve been seeing a few glimmers of hope here and there that things can possibly change in the future. 343 Industries and Microsoft Studio’s Halo 5: Guardians was a notable game to give all of its DLC for free. Most recently, EA and Respawn Studios did the same thing for their blockbuster hit, Titanfall 2. This is another huge step for EA, as it’s now their second triple A title to drop the season pass model and offer DLC at no additional cost.

To me, it seems like EA is working to get back into the good graces with many gamers, and I feel like they’re for sure on the right track. Below is the Twitter exchange with Flynn and a follower regarding the season pass. Flynn doesn’t divulge much details (with the exception that there will be no season pass), and eludes to more news coming in the future. I’m really wondering what else is left to announce, as the release for Andromeda is but a few months away. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
