Date for Twin Peaks season 3 finally announced

The long awaited return of the David Lynch’s cult classic Twin Peaks is almost over! The new season will premiere on Showtime May 21st at 9pm with a two-hour special. Episodes 3 and 4 will be available to stream online immediately after the broadcast. The new season will be a total of 18 episodes released weekly after the premiere.

So far we know that the season will take place 25 years after the original series, which aired between 1990 and 1991. Though most other plot details have been kept secret, we did get a hint from Showtime’s David Nevins who says that the return of Twin Peaks will follow “Agent Dale Cooper’s odyssey to Twin Peaks.”

Along with many other familiar faces, Kyle MacLachlan will reprise his role as Agent Dale Cooper. A full list of old and new actors to the series can be found here.
