Watch David Tennant and the brand new cast of ‘DuckTales’ sing the theme song

I’m not going to lie. When Disney XD announced that there would be a reboot of the beloved animated series, “DuckTales”, I was hesitant. After all, like many people, we all grew up watching the adventures of Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie and the rest of the gang. How can you reboot such a classic? After the first teaser art was revealed I still felt slightly optimistic. When I saw the second piece of teaser art, I got more excited because, well, Launchpad McQuack. Today, Disney XD released a video that put all trepidations to rest by announcing the cast in the best way possible: Singing the theme song to “DuckTales”.

I am 100% sold because look at how awesome this cast is.

  • David Tennant (BBC’s “Doctor Who”, Netflix’s “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”) as Scrooge McDuck
  • Danny Pudi (NBC’s “Community”) as Huey
  • Ben Schwartz (NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”) as Dewey
  • Bobby Moynihan (NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”) as Louie
  • Kate Micucci (Garfunkel and Oates, Don’t Think Twice) as Webbigail “Webby” Vanderquack
  • Toks Olagundoye (ABC’s “Castle”) as Mrs. Beakley
  • Beck Bennett (NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”) as Launchpad McQuack

If there’s one way you can get me to forget Alan Young’s iconic Scrooge McDuck voice is by hiring the Scotsman David Tennant.

In addition to the core cast, series’ regulars like Flintheart Glomgold, Donald Duck, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Gizmoduck, Magica DeSpell, Gladstone Gander, and Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys will all be making an appearance as well.

What do you think of the cast? Sound off in the comments section below!
